Goldendale GED Testing Services to End in 2013: GED testing services will end in April, as it moves from a paper based format to a computer based format. The reason the service is ending is due to the Goldendale testing center not being in compliance with the new testing requirments. Nearby testing centers include The Dalles, Hood River, Yakima and Pasco. GED testing in Goldendale is currently offered most Fridays at 1PM at 116 East Main Street (WorkSource). If I Were Mayor Contest: (TDWHS) The theme this year is "If I were Mayor After school would be..." where students share their creative ideas about what after-school opportunities they would like to see in their city and what else they would do as mayor. The High school age criteria is to make a video to express their ideas. There will be a $25.00 gift certificate presented to the winner at a city council meeting. Submissions must be entered by April 12th. Turn them in to the main office and Mayor Wilcox will pick them up personally. - 4/12
Wasco County Farm Bureau Scholarship: WCFB will be awarding up to $1,800 in scholarships to high school seniors in Wasco County. Anyone may apply but priority consideration will be given to those with an agricultural background, such as 4-H, a family farming background, a family that is a member of Farm Bureau, involvement in FFA, or a major in a field related to agriculture.
