1st Annual Tree Huck Ultimate Frisbee Hat Tournament: Teams will be formed on site. Each team will play (5) 35 minute games! When: Saturday, August 4th. Registration opens at 11AM. Enjoy a hot dog BBQ and then teams will be announced at 11:50AM. Noon kicks off a full day of ultimate frisbee action ending at around 6PM. A championship game will ensue at 6PM and awards will be handed out. 16th Annual Gorge Outrigger Races: Two weekends of racing! On July 21st/22nd, hundreds of outrigger canoe paddlers compete in multiple events. NFL Punt, Pass and Kick: Your kids will have a blast participating in this legendary nationwide event in which the kids compete by kicking and throwing the pigskin. The Dalles Youth Football Signups: Signups for flag and tackle football leagues will take place on Tuesday, July 17th from 5:30-7PM and Saturday, July 28th from 10-11:30AM at The Dalles Civic Auditorium. Registration deadline is July 31st. Flag football is for kids in the 1st first and second grades. Cost for flag football is $40. Tackle football is for kids in the third through sixth grades. Cost for youth tackle football is $110. - 7/17 and 7/28

The Dalles Wahtonka Youth Football Camp: (Non Contact) When: July 23rd-27th, 9AM-Noon. Where: Sid White Field (West 10th St.) Coach Lynn Helyer and his assistants teach local area youth the game of football. Campers must bring appropriate footwear, snacks, water and a good attitude! Softball Camp: The Dalles Coach Steve Garrett would like to get 40-50 kids ages 9-16 for a 5 day softball camp. Please call 541-965-0892 to express your interest. Coach Garrett hopes to split the girls into two age groups with those being 9-12 and 13-16. Sessions would run from 9AM-Noon and then break for lunch, followed by game instruction and a scrimmage.

Metro Baseball Academy Camp: Hit better, throw better, field better, run better. Having had a child go through this camp, I can honestly say that it may be the best 199 bucks I've ever spent. The kids learn baseball skills from a staff of WINNERS who have achieved a high level of success in the sport. A very positive experience! Nelson Breaks Record: TDW's Erin Nelson took first place in the 200 meter freestyle competition at the district meet last Saturday. She also set the TDW school record for the 500 meter. She finished second in that competition. Congratulations Erin! - 2/16

Dodgeball: No signup necessary. Just drop in at Colonel Wright Elementary. When: Every Monday (6pm) starting November 7th. Games will likely go until April. Cost: $1 donation at the door. While there is no minumum age requirement, it's recommended that kids not be younger than 7th or 8th grade (for safety reasons). - 11/7

23rd Annual Aluminum Man Triathlon: This event takes place on Saturday, September 10th, 2011. Location: Riverfront Park in The Dales, Oregon. The Olympic Course starts at 9AM and includes 1K swim, 50k bike and 10k run. The Sprint Course starts at 9:30AM and consists of a .5k swim, 20k bike and 5k run. Entry fee is $65 if received by August 26th. Register early, because the day of race registration is $85. The fee includes a t-shirt and lunch following the race.
