Diesel Truck Strikes Cougar: I-84 was closed for 6 hours early Tuesday morning as a 2 year old male cougar was struck by an 18 wheeler while crossing the freeway. The 1990 Peterbilt was traveling westbound at milepost 81. The truck's fuel crossover line was damaged causing fuel to spill on the highway. - 6/12

"The Marriage of Figaro" Northern Wasco Co. Parks and Rec has organized a trip on November 6th to Portland to watch "The Marriage of Figaro", one of Mozart's most popular and humorous operas. Wasco County Historical Society Annual Meeting & Luncheon - Eric Gleason, Archaeologist, will be the featured speaker and will discuss the recent dig to uncover the Chinese presence in The Dalles in his presentation: "Uncovering the Chinese Presence in The Dalles". Luncheon includes your choice from swiss steak with gravy or chicken, roll,salad, mashed potatoes and dessert. Cost of lunch meal: $12 per member, $17 per non-member.
